About Me

Hi, I’m Kandi Anderson. I’m a firm believer that the only way we can have joy in this journey called life is to live out the Word, dig in the Scriptures, and abide in Him as we trudge through everyday life.

I have a big mouth. I asked the Lord as a young girl if He wanted to use this mouth for His glory because I was willing to go. It is similar to when Samuel said “here am I, Lord, send me.” He did want to use me and He has. Yet, the practical aspect of my life with Christ has not always been easy. There have been lots of humorous, boring, terribly sad, scary, joyful, and emotion packed days that inspire some to say “That’ll preach.”

The scripture that says “for me to live is Christ” (Philippians 1:21) is wonderful; however, then come the parts about sharing in His sufferings and those “Gethsemane Moments” in which I say to God “not my will, but Yours”. Each part declares that hiding under the shadow of His wing and abiding in the cross is the only way to breathe in on this side of glory.

There were years of diapers, teenagers, church, and work. I called it life. Each experience taught me to say “I need you Lord.” God has allowed me to walk through the ordinary and the extraordinary days and say “nevertheless, I will trust You and I will go tell the world about You after we get through this chapter together”. It is through my raw testimony that God works out how to go and tell the world.

I married Lowry Anderson at the ripe age of 18 and moved from South Texas to Mississippi. We started a family on a shoestring, climbed a corporate ladder, and then accepted God’s call into the ministry during middle-age.

During that time I was invited to speak to different social groups and churches when suddenly I found myself with a radio program called “Morning Light.” From there I became a manager for WAOY, a local American Family Radio station. I continued to speak, traveling to places like Tennessee, Florida, Louisiana, and others. Also, about ten years ago I began writing a weekly column for the “Sun Herald”, a newspaper in MS Gulf Coast.

It’s been a journey. I quit working in radio in order to be a fulltime pastor’s wife which involved helping with counseling, hospital visits, and just loving and supporting my husband. I’m so glad I listened to the Lord and simply did just that.

This last year has been the most difficult as my life-filled husband got sick. Within three short weeks he went home to be with the One that he loved and lived for. Life is hard, but God is good.

Now, I’m back on the air, still writing, and wanting more than ever to share those “That’ll Preach” moments with others. Without God’s power in my story, I would simply be offering mere words. He’s the one that impacts people, not me. As Paul said:

“I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.” (1 Corinthians 2:3-5)

This has been a long introduction just to say that I “love the Lord, have a message, have a big mouth, and will travel.” I pray that if you have prayed and God leads you to have me come share then God will do the rest.
